Kristian holds an MSc in agronomy and a PhD in plant nutrition and analytical chemistry. He is leading the research group Plant Nutrients and Food Quality at the Plant and Soil Science Section (Dept. of Plant and Environmental Sciences). The research group’s mission is to provide new knowledge and recommendations regarding sustainable and resource-efficient plant production that simultaneously delivers safe, authentic and nutritious food.
The scientific focus areas of Kristian are plant nutrition, analytical chemistry and food quality. He has contributed to several studies aimed at unravelling the functional roles of nutrients in plant metabolism and has utilized his background in fundamental plant science to investigate the quality and authenticity of plant-based food products.
